Exhibition Italian Espresso Guangzhou Museum of Art In News
Exhibition Italian Espresso - Guangzhou Museum of Art
Venue: Guangzhou Museum of Art (Guanshan Yue Art Gallery), Luhu Rd. 13 , China
Time: 2008-11-04~2008-12-04

If you've ever enjoyed a cup of espresso or cappuccino, then you may want to familiarize yourself more with these Italian inventions by visiting a new exhibition at the Guangzhou Museum of Art.

The exhibition is part of the celebratory events surrounding the 10th anniversary of the Italian Consulate in Guangzhou. Photographs and coffee accoutrements will be on exhibit to introduce locals to the culture of coffee.

As early as the 14th and 15th centuries coffee was promoted by Arabians to Muslims, considered to be the first time coffee was developed commercially. In Italy the wide acceptance of coffee began after the 18th century.

In Europe coffee originally became well-known in Venice, Italy. In around 1640, cafés were prevalent hangouts for poets, philosophers and artists. These shops later transformed into modern bars.
